In memory of the late Ralph Gray (’64), former alumni association president, the AARHS and the Has-Beens sponsored a special award to a Radnor varsity football player who exhibited the qualities that Ralph valued during his time on the football field and in his life: team spirit, perseverance, commitment, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude.
Receiving the award was Bryce Furey (’26), who has enrolled at Miami University in Ohio, where he has been accepted into the NROTC. Bryce received an engraved plaque and check. In addition, Jim Vankoski from the Sports Legends of Delaware County Museum presented Bryce with three books, including Emlen Tunnell, the recently published biography of the NFL Hall of Famer, by David Lyons ’80. A ceremony was held in May at the Radnor Township Municipal Building near the Emlen Tunnell statue.
